Ari Katz, President

Leveraging an extensive insurance and technology background, Katz co-founded BOLT Solutions with Eric Gewirtzman in 2000. Prior to BOLT, Katz was co-CEO and co-founder of Shadow Computers Ltd., a successful insurance software development company. There, Katz both created and led the team of technology innovators in bringing cutting edge technologies from other sectors into the insurance marketplace. Katz previously served as an officer and software engineer in the R&D division of the Israeli Army Intelligence, specifically with experience in secure transaction and information relay systems.


Tom Hammond, EVP of Insurance Operations

Prior to BOLT, Hammond was with The Hartford Property and Casualty Company for more than 23 years. His experience included development and direction of Direct Response Marketing, Operational Management, and P&C Strategy. Hammond was General Manager of the west coast service center operation which included over 500 staff members. More recently, he was managing Hartford Customer Contact Center strategies and JD Power certification programs. Hammond has an MBA and a B.S. degree in Information Management from San Diego State.


Rob Tyrie, SVP Professional Services

Tyrie leads the Professional Services team and is responsible for BOLT’s customer engagements. He has over 25 years of experience in the software industry with expert roles in both large and small software companies that focus on enterprise solutions for blue chip insurance and financial services firms. His specialty is bringing leading technology into production to deliver revenue growth and cost savings to his clients. Prior to BOLT, Tyrie was the global lead for insurance at Salesforce.com. He has also held executive positions at NexJ Systems, Camilion and Siebel where he led large-scale engagements with companies such as Allstate, AIG, AXA and ACE Insurance. Tyrie has a B.S. in Computer Science and Statistics from the University of Western Ontario.


Kathleen Garlasco, SVP Enterprise Marketing

Garlasco brings to BOLT a proven record in global marketing and revenue generation. Responsible for driving extensive periods of growth for several enterprise software, outsourcing and “Big 4” organizations, she is expert in developing and implementing successful strategies and policies that position organizations for continued success. Her work includes cross-industry expertise, successfully targeting companies in the insurance, banking and financial services sectors.  At BOLT, she employs her insight to develop and execute the company’s marketing strategy, including positioning and product differentiation, and manages a broad-scale effort that includes direct and online marketing, content development and demand generation for key customer segments, including managing the corporate website. Her previous roles include Executive Director, Katalis Solutions; VP of Marketing - Insurance, Financial Services and Banking, Genpact; Industry Analyst and Influencer Relations Lead, PwC.  Kathleen is a graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook where she received a degree in Psychology.


Scott Van Slyck, EVP Enterprise Sales

Van Slyck heads the BOLT sales team, continuing its rapid response to growing market demand for the BOLT Platform™ and to the industry’s increasing appetite for direct distribution solutions. With nearly 20 years of business development and sales experience, Van Slyck brings to BOLT a strong skill set in sales and product management. Van Slyck most recently served as Senior Vice President of Sales, Insurance Risk Americas for SunGard, where he oversaw the Americas sales strategy for over a decade. Previous experience includes work with risk assessment technology provider BioSignia in business development, market research, and product development. Van Slyck is a graduate of Siena College where he received a B.S. degree in Finance.
